What I wore today:
Skirt: H&M, tights: V&D, belts, top, denim shirt and denim jacket: vintage.
What's on my mind:
High Glitz is a book by Los Angeles-based photographer Susan Anderson. For the past three years, she flew across the States to shoot little girls with big dreams at Child Beauty Pageants. Pushed mostly by their mothers, these barbie girls will learn how to survive in the world of High Glitz. The photos really intrigue me. It's so sad and scary at the same time. It's just wrong. Five-year-olds with fake nails and eye lashes, hair extensions and shaved legs? All perfectly tanned and manicured, with depilated eyebrows? I don't think this can be good to a child. Let's not forget that Britney Spears was discovered at a Child Beauty Pageant. And look what's become of her...
What do you think of Child Beauty Pageants? A great opportunity for the girls, or child abuse?
